Our mission: To rescue and provide sanctuary for farmed animals, while modeling a compassionate way of life for all.
Cupid’s Landing is a project for peace; driven by compassion, immersed in the value of all life on Earth. It is a vision – the start up of a sanctuary, and a center for a compassionate, healthy, and happy community. It all begins here.
The seeds for Cupid’s Landing were planted shortly after Mae Tipple went vegan in January of 2013. In short, she realized that her true passion lies within the vegan movement, and that this is what she needs to commit her life to. Mae decided that she is going to build a farm animal sanctuary. She also realized that at the core of her passion lies an awareness of how truly powerful and impactful people can be when they are in an empowering environment. Let’s face it – most of us have jobs that don’t exactly leave us feeling empowered or positively enabled. Imagine how much more successful everything would be – people, businesses, movements – if we were encouraged to do the things we’re good at, things that we love; the things that actually make a difference in the world, whether those things are great or small. We envision a farm animal sanctuary that thrives with a community of people that are supported, empowered, and given the opportunity to be true to themselves, and offer what they have to the world.
So what is Cupid’s Landing? First and foremost, Cupid’s Landing is a startup project to fund the building of a farm animal sanctuary in Western Washington. Our primary function will be to rescue farmed animals that are survivors and escapees of the food, clothing, and entertainment industries, or otherwise exploited by humans. We are currently fundraising and creating awareness as we move towards our goal of purchasing land and building a sanctuary. You can read about our plan here. Rescuing farmed animals will always be our number one priority. Once that aspect is well underway, we will begin incorporating functions that promote the wellness of the animals, the people, and the land. Functions like a produce farm, farm store, bed and breakfast, classes, outreach, education, retreats, etc. Our goal is to create the most positive work environment possible. We want you to tell us what makes you happy, because we believe that happy people can and will do amazing things together when they are in an environment that encourages and enables them to do so. If a member of the community has a service they can offer or an idea that fits into our mission, we want to know about it so we can continue to expand and better our organization, all in the name of rescuing those animals – those individuals – who are otherwise forgotten and abused.
This sounds like a giant undertaking, doesn’t it? It is! But we can do it with your help – we can do it together. When you support Cupid’s Landing by coming to our events or donating, YOU are empowering US to move this project forward and make it a reality. Thank you for being a part of it.
Thank you for taking the time to see what this is all about. We hope that you will follow along on this journey by checking back frequently and leaving comments along the way.
