Things are happening for Cupid’s Landing!  Momentum is picking up, and we are on a roll!  At this point, you all know about the presentation at Marlene’s tomorrow morning, and the garage sale/free vegan BBQ on July 17th.  We have already received loads of awesome donations of items to sell, so THANK YOU to everyone who has donated!  We are still accepting donations, and will continue to do so until the day before.

Today I opened a PO Box for Cupid’s Landing.  Now you may send mail and donations to:

We will not be hosting a cooking demo this month due to busy schedules, but we will be picking up again in August with BBQ jackfruit and vegan ranch!  This demo will take place on August 18th in Federal Way rather than Tacoma.  The location is 1934 S 371st Place, Federal Way, WA 98003.  It begins at 6pm.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Earlier this week, I hosted a staff cookout party for the Humane Society that I work for.  I got many compliments on the food, so I wanted to share some of those ideas with you.  The potato salad seemed to be the biggest hit.  It was very simple – I did not follow a recipe.  I made the mayonnaise from scratch that day from aquafaba. (That part I did follow a recipe for.)   I peeled ten russet potatoes, cut them in half and boiled them for about 20 minutes, until they could be pierced with a fork but not falling apart.  Once cooled, I cut them into bite sized pieces.  I mixed them up with about 1.5 cups mayo, a tablespoon or so of yellow mustard, half a white onion (chopped), a good handful of chopped fresh dill, and some garlic salt, celery salt, and black pepper.

Carrot dogs!  Oil, salt, pepper, chili powder, and cumin.  Grill until tender.  Serve as in, or in a hotdog bun with all the fixings.
