6 Month Progress Report

On October 1st, we hit a milestone in the beginning of Cupid’s Landing history:  We have officially been a business in the state of Washington for 6 months!  So many amazing things have happened.  We’ve had some incredibly fun and successful fundraisers and connected with some seriously great people.  Last night, we held our Vegan Wine and Cheese Tasting fundraiser.  This event was far more successful than we imagined it would be – we raised nearly three times the amount we were expecting to!  I want to send out a HUGE thank you to all of the vendors who donated to make this event possible:

The amount of love and support that flowed through this event was incredible, and it created a positive momentum for us. It feels like a good time to give you an overview of where we stand right now.  In the last six months,we have:

  • Acquired a Washington state business license
  • Became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • Acquired a city of Tacoma business license
  • Held six fundraisers
  • Raised a total of $4,278.89

We set a goal several months ago to raise $5,000 by the end of the year.  We so got this, and that is 100% thanks to YOU!  Your donations and support are making this happen.  If we can accomplish this much in six months, just think of what we can do in five years.  Before we know it, we’ll be sitting on 100 acres of land, providing lifelong sanctuary and care for farm animals who need it more than most can imagine, and building our community around compassion, wellness, and peace.

So what’s next?  Next month we are hosting a vegan pie baking contest!  Guest judges and general attendees will vote on sweet and savory pies in four different categories.  All are welcome to either enter and bake a vegan pie, or attend the event and taste them all!  We have some more exciting plans in the works for January, February, and next summer.  Stay tuned to get all of the latest news and updates!  Enjoy some photos from the wine and  cheese event:
